SEGA COO recently talked with Yahoo Japan about reissuing the SEGA Megadrive/Genesis in the same way that Nintendo has created the Nintendo and Super Nintendo Classic systems. In the past SEGA clone consoles have been created with SEGA licensing the name out to other companies to manufacture and ship the product. Could SEGA develop a better system and finally deliver the SEGA Genesis Classic fans have been waiting for?

I’d love for them to do Saturn and Dreamcast after the Genesis for sure.

Man a dreamcast classic would be so dope. Such an underrated system. Power stone needs a sequel or remaster lol

Just release the games as Sega Classics on the eShop instead.

Not sure how well emulating Saturn and Dreamcast would work.
But I would definitely want to buy an officially released Sega Genesis mini.

Interesting; wonder if they’ll do it w/ Retro-Bit? Also I’m *really* hoping it’s not just MegaDrive; while I love the MegaDrive, it’s as if Sega ignores their other consoles and arcade games for it, and that isn’t cool. Most of my favorite Sega games (Sega + third-party) are actually *not* on the MegaDrive lol, tho some are like Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, Sonic 2 + 3 etc.

I enjoy playing on the original 30 year old quality built hardware with the original cartridges. Nostalgia foolish I guess you could call me. Having said this I’m glad to see better quality clones coming out as well as cartridges.
