Played the arcade version for the first time a few weeks ago and thought the exact same thing about the hitboxes (and that the character sprites were oversized for the landscape aspect ratio). Good review!

Very nice accurate review! The best Psykio IMO, and this is coming from a vert guy. All the elements of their standard formula really came together here; charge shots finally feel like a fully integrated part of gameplay, levels feel more fleshed out and fully realized, the mechanics are finely tuned, and there’s plenty of the usual Psykio personality and charm.

I love shooters on the Saturn, but this one on Saturn is almost a 100$, so I’m glad it’s only around 10$ on eshop

I wish these old 2D games could get remade with high res sprites. Like, the same sprites, the same visual style, with in HD so it doesn’t look blurry.
